Discussions focused on ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, interregional cooperation within the C5 + Nordic Council format, and the development of expert-level dialogue.
The Swedish expert highlighted the consistent and systemic nature of reforms in Uzbekistan, noting their role in supporting sustainable development, social cohesion, and strengthening the country’s position as a reliable regional partner.
Expert pointed the growing relevance of the C5 + Nordic Council format, which has the potential to evolve to the high-level summit level.
It was noted that the 2025 ministerial meeting, along with IICA delegation visits to Finland, Norway, and Sweden in 2026, contributed to strengthening academic cooperation and expanding knowledge exchange.
The importance of “expert diplomacy” and engagement between think tanks was also emphasized as a tool for enhancing international dialogue.
Following the meeting, both sides expressed interest in developing joint research on security and sustainable development, as well as expanding academic and expert exchanges.
